This updated version incorporates changes to reflect current times and comply with the LOMLOE, including issues on competence-based learning and teaching, UDL, and on learning situations.
The book has been divided into five parts:
- Part I: The Subject of your Syllabus includes key considerations to bear in mind concerning students, with a special focus on the WHY of learning.
- Part II: The Foundations for the planning of the Syllabus. Here, we analyse the key legislation and other documents, explaining the connection among the different elements of the Curriculum as stated in RDs 217/2022 and 243/2022.
- Part III: Guidelines to help you design your teaching programme, the Learning Situations and the Units that make up your Syllabus design and for the Oral Presentation.
- Part IV: A sample. The Syllabus Design for 1st CSE/ESO. Implementing the Guidelines from Part III and incorporating ideas from a variety of Autonomous Regions so that you can get inspiration on different ways of organising Units and Learning Situations. We have also included a sample of Learning Situation for the Oral Presentation.
- Part V: Current Legislation. The English version includes key elements to bear in mind: Leaver Profile-Operational Descriptors, General Objectives for the two stages, Specific Competences and their Assessment Criteria, etc. Also current Curriculum legislation for each Autonomous Region, including further details when deemed relevant.
Finally, a Glossary with some of the key terms used in English has been added. If necessary, the Glossary will be expanded to include other terms, either in possible new editions of this book or on the PoppieS website.
